Douglas visiting Mother at Kent Regency Nursing Home:

“Why am I here?  I don’t want to be in this big house.  I don’t want to be in this crazy house.”

(Mother was very alert.  Doug and Mother, in her wheel chair, went for a stroll down to see Lisa, Audrey’s granddaughter, Lisa  in the Administrative office.  Lisa said she has not seen her this alert before.  Lisa explained to Mother as to why Mother was in the Nursing Home.

(Mother nodded her head “yes”.)

“Why don’t you take all this stuff and put it in the car and then take me home?”

(Long discussion on why she can’t go home)

Douglas visiting Mother at Kent Regency asked Mother: “If there was anything in the world that you could do, what would it be?”

“Sit here holding my hand”.

(Douglas: “What’s next best?”)

“Laying in bed having people wait on me.”

(Mother pushed the button to the bathroom.  Doug had to hand it to her.)

“Let me lay my head on your shoulder.”

“No, I’m fine right here.”

Heather: Mother, are you cold? (I opened the shutters and Mother opened her eyes and looked out and then shut her eyes.)

(shakes her head “no”)

Heather: (Audrey’s comments on March 18th during Heather’s visit at Kent Regency)

“Take me out because I’m the first born.”

(Mike, the certified nurse aide enters the room and Audrey speaks to him)  “Hold this.  I want him to hold this.”

(Lisa Gayle comes in to Audrey’s room and Mother looks at me and says)  “Take me home.  I don’t want to lock myself in.”

(Heather: “Oh Mother, I wish I could. This is the first time in my life I really wish I had money, so I could take you home.”)
