Heather: Is this right? Dad’s best friend as a child was Wilfred. He married Theo who is now with you at Alpine.

Audrey: Yes, we call him Bill. He and Theo had five boys.

Heather: A number of people have said to me that they admired you because you never let life get you down but you stayed true to yourself. You are artistic and creative and you never lost that.

Heather: The nurses will not wheel you away from me and if they do, I will follow you, so no need to worry.

(The hospice chaplain, Rev. Meridith White, visited Mother.  The chaplain asked me what to pray for.  Immediately Mother started reciting  “The Lord’s Prayer”.  They recited it together.  I held back tears.)
